Garden Gathering at the Woodland Table

Outdoor dining has shifted from terrace tables and rosé at sunset to longer, more immersive formats built around atmosphere, fire cooking and shared space. Guests are increasingly looking for experiences that feel social without becoming performative, while hotels are using kitchen gardens and estate grounds as part of the product itself rather than background scenery.

Down Hall leans into that change with The Woodland Table, an outdoor dining series running on 28 June, 19 July, 16 August and 6 September. Set inside the hotel’s walled garden, guests sit at communal tables built from trees felled on the estate while chefs cook a changing menu over open flames using produce harvested metres away. Fire pits, live music and long-table seating stretch the experience across the entire evening.
