La Sultana Oualidia’s smallest craft is designed for watching wildlife. A float tube, also called a belly boat, is a lightweight inflatable for one person. Guests drift quietly across the lagoon, with observation equipment supplied by the hotel. The two-hour expedition offers a view from water level, with a guide available to help interpret what they see.
Oualidia forms part of the Sidi Moussa–Walidia wetland complex, recognised under the Ramsar Convention for its international ecological importance. Its lagoons, marshes and salt pans provide habitat for migrating and wintering waterbirds, including spoonbills and black-winged stilts. Understanding that wider landscape changes the outing: the birds here are feeding and resting along a migration route that connects Morocco with places far beyond it.
