Friday afternoon tea is getting a little stranger in Richmond. On 11 September, Bingham Riverhouse hosts author Gloria Danili for an afternoon built around Mr Moore’s Bizarre Secret Society, a new theatrical production inspired by the imaginative worlds of Charles Dickens and Lewis Carroll.
Tea and cake come with an exclusive reading by stage actress Sarah Finch, whose credits span the Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare’s Globe and the West End. Afterwards, guests can meet the creative team and discover how Danili’s background in children’s television scenography and even hospital clowning feeds her wonderfully offbeat storytelling.
Running from 2pm to 5pm, it’s part literary salon, part theatrical preview and a refreshingly whimsical excuse to spend an afternoon by the Thames.
