A hot air balloon rising above Ubud’s rice paddies might be one of the more unexpected experiences in Bali.
The flight takes place at Tanah Gajah, a Resort by Hadiprana, where the basket lifts about fifty metres above the surrounding terraces and palm trees. From that height the landscape opens into a wide patchwork of green fields, temples and distant hills.
Hot air balloon flights are rare on the island, which makes this one feel quietly special. For a few minutes Ubud reveals itself from an angle most visitors never see.
Flights run at sunrise, sunset or alongside a dinner experience, each paired with drinks and small treats once the balloon returns to the ground.
